Join Traverse City native Caitlin Chism on the free tour to observe and learn about the wildflowers growing along the trail on this environmental education tour.
Caitlin has a Bachelor’s of Science in Natural History and Interpretation from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She is particularly passionate about insects and native wildflowers.
WHEN TO ARRIVE
Tour begins promptly at 2:30 p.m. and takes about 1.5 hours.
WHAT TO EXPECTThe hike covers 2 miles of rustic hilly trails through our 30-acre forest preserve. You’ll see and learn about native wildflowers along the way and see scenic vistas and up to 50 works of art in the permanent collection and temporary exhibits.
PARKING
Free parking is available at the Art Park entrance with additional parking on Mountain Woods Drive, adjacent to the park or at any public Crystal Mountain lot.

ABOUT OUR ART PARK
Michigan Legacy Art Park is a nonprofit arts organization founded by internationally acclaimed artist David Barr in 1995 to enrich lives through experiences that connect art, nature, and Michigan’s history.
Contemporary Art comes to life in the park’s permanent collection of almost 50 works, located in the midst of a 30-acre forest preserve. The Art Park hosts thousands of visitors and students each year, features miles of trails, world-class concerts outdoors, art and nature workshops, and extensive education programs. It is open every day of the year.
