Tasks

  • Plan events in the community to bring our representatives to our area to address issues of importance to businesses and the community
  • Research legislative issues and recommend action to the board
  • Review local & regional policies and legislation
  • When appropriate review local & regional policies and legislation
  • Participate with Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance Programs
  • The Benzie County Chamber of Commerce does not support candidates, but may take positions on local, state and national issues

Executive Board

Committee is made up of the following officers but is not limited to;

Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Immediate Past Chairman, President 

Schedules

  • Second Wednesday of each month at 8:00am

Tasks

  • Make necessary decisions regarding issues arising between board meetings
  • Set the agenda for board meetings
  • Review the current By-Laws and make recommendations to the board for revision
  • Assess the needed skill/represenatation on the board of Directors
  • Suggest candidates for board membership to the Board of Directors
  • Recommend a slate of officers to the board
  • Review and revise personnel policies
  • Evaluate the job performance of the President
  • Make recommendations to the board regarding the hiring or termination of the President
  • Address issues not covered by other committees and make recommendations to the board regarding the same.
