Benzie County is the smallest county in Michigan at only 361 square miles, located in the Northwest Lower Peninsula.  Our area is rich in natural resources with over 57 inland lakes, rivers, forests and areas of productive farmland.  Over 36% of Benzie County is publicly owned State and Federal land, including the Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore, Platte River State Fish Hatchery & Weir and the Historic Point Betsie Lighthouse.
